Nayanthara is one of the most sought-after actresses in the film industry across the South. She has earned the title the Lady Superstar due to her unrelenting commitment to female-centric films. Now, she is all set to star in another film based on this theme titled Annapoorani- The Goddess Of Food.

Saregama Tamil unveiled the trailer of the movie on November 27. This became an instant hit with the viewers. Now, the trailer has achieved yet another feat. It has garnered more than 5 million views and is trending at number two on YouTube. Annapoorani – The Goddess Of Food will be released tomorrow, December 1, in the cinema halls.

The trailer reveals Nayanthara’s character Annapoorani, a Brahmin girl aspiring to become a chef despite her parents’ apprehensions. Her parents try their best to dissuade her from indulging in this dream saying, “Not every street cricket player can become Sachin Tendulkar".

She deceives her parents by enrolling in a cooking school under the pretext of pursuing an MBA. Annapoorani faces a lot of problems in achieving her objective of becoming a chef. She is traumatised after cooking and consuming non-vegetarian food in the competition. She also faces an injury on her face and ends up in a hospital. Undeterred by these problems, she resolves to compete in a cooking competition to become India’s best chef.

Another user added, “One and only lady superstar Nayanthara, eagerly waiting to watch this film." One user also commented, “Goosebumps felt after a long time."

Directed by Nilesh Krishnaa, Annapoorani marks her reunion with actor Jai. They have worked previously on Atlee’s 2013 film Raja Rani. Noteworthy additions to the cast include Redin Kingsley, Sathyaraj, KS Ravikumar, and other actors. Zee Studios has produced this film in collaboration with Trident Arts and Naad Studios. Sathyan Sooryan, acclaimed for his work in films like Kaithi and Master, serves as the cinematographer. Thaman S is the music composer. Praveen Antony is responsible for the editing.
