New Delhi: The Sensex maintained its upward march as it gained over 117 points in early trade on Tuesday.
The 30-share-index, Sensex, which recorded a gain of 215 points in previous trading, went up another 117.48 points at 12,762.47 in the first 10 minutes of trading.
The upsurge came as buyers turned to IT, auto, cement and oil & gas stocks during the opening trade.
The National Stock Exchange was also up by 35.60 points at 3,714.50.
The major gainers in the opening trade were Rel Comm, ACC, Guj Ambuja, ONGC, Bajaj Auto, Satyam and Tata Motors.
