New Delhi: Virgin Atlantic Airways has awarded its Public Relations mandate in India to Good Relations (India) Pvt Ltd (GRI) following a multi-agency pitch.

Virgin Atlantic Airways is Britain's second largest long haul airline and currently operates 14 flights every week between India and the UK, with daily services to London from Delhi and Mumbai.

Traditionally, Virgin Atlantic's communication has reflected a quirky and fun aspect that is synonymous with its founder Richard Branson's personality.

The partnership with GRI would leverage the resources, experience, relationships, and the abilities of the two organisations in identifying new opportunities.

Commenting on the appointment of GRI, Virgin Atlantic Airways Marketing Manager (India) Neha Lidder Ganju said, "The appointment of Good Relations India comes at an appropriate time and follows the restructuring with its new creative and media agency. With such excellent partners in place, Virgin Atlantic is all set to break new ground in the Indian market place."

"The team at Good Relations India demonstrated the skills and enthusiasm necessary for an energetic brand like Virgin to take its communications to the next level. We look forward to an exciting partnership," she added.

Established in 1988, Good Relations (I) Pvt Ltd was the first independent public relations consultancy in the country to offer its expertise to national and trans-national corporations.

GRI has a well-established network across India with offices in New Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kolkata and Pune.

On winning the contract, Good Relations India CEO & MD Meenakshi Sachdev Varma said, "Virgin Atlantic Airways is one of those aspirational brands that most PR professionals would love to work with".

"We are truly delighted at our appointment as their PR Consultancy and the team is extremely excited at the opportunities that they will be able to leverage for Virgin Atlantic," Varma added.
