New Delhi: The Union Agriculture Ministry is monitoring rising onion prices and other commodities. According to ministry officials, they are in touch with the Finance Ministry.
A senior official said, "We are in constant touch with the Finance Ministry and will soon come with some measures to check rising prices. Officials have been instructed for the smooth supply of onion from Nasik and Rajasthan Mandi."
He added, "We are in touch with the state governments and urge them to act on black marketers and hoarders to check onion prices. We are also in touch with the Commerce Ministry and talking to authorities concerned and working on Mango ban by the European Union (EU)."
