Alia Bhatt's London Charity Gala To Have Performances By Harshdeep Kaur, Usha Jey and Rohan Joshi: Report

Alia Bhatt is all set to host her first charity gala in London to support A Mumbai-Based NGO. The gala will be taking place today at the Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park, London in association with the hotel chain.

With this, Alia will be supporting Salaam Bombay charity, which is focused on engaging Mumbai’s most vulnerable children through in-school programmes (leadership and advocacy) and after-school academies (skill building) that help build their confidence, and self-esteem and commit them to stay in school.

Buzz is that, the event would be attended by renowned personalities and philanthropists from India and the United Kingdom. A source close to the team shared with ETimes that “Famous singer Harshdeep Kaur ( She sang Dilbaro from Raazi for Alia) , comedian Rohan Joshi and Paris-based Tamil dancer and choreographer Usha Jey have been roped in to perform at the event. The idea is to have a mix of entertainment and social work for everyone present.”

Meanwhile on the work front, Alia Bhatt will soon be seen in Jigra with Vedang Raina, the shooting of which was recently wrapped up. Alia is not just playing the lead in the film but is also producing it. Previously, in an interview with Film Companion, Alia opened up about venturing into production and shared that it is ‘exciting and overwhelming’ at the same time.

“I believe stories are everywhere, and stories are everything! I turned producer with Eternal Sunshine to tell some of these stories, ones that evoke emotions and leave an impact. Our first production, Darlings, got so much love that it was exciting and overwhelming at the same time,” she said.

“Just a little over a year later, we are ready to launch our second production – Jigra, a beautiful story of courage, passion and determination. I hope to consistently support compelling narratives that are authentic, and enduringly timeless and work with brilliant creative minds to bring them alive,” the 31-year-old actress added.

Besides Jigra, Alia will soon also be seen in Farhan Akhtar’s Jee Le Zara with Priyanka Chopra and Katrina Kaif. However, its shooting has not started yet. No detail regarding its release is also known as of now.
