'I Was Driving But Victim Was Drunk': Kannada Comedian Chandraprabha G On Hit-and-run Case
Chandraprabha said that he immediately got out of the car and got the injured person admitted to a hospital after this accident happened.

A case has been filed against Kannada comedian Chandraprabha G at the Chikkamagaluru Traffic Police Station, Karnataka. This happened when a car registered in his name, numbered KA51-MD-9552, was involved in a hit-and-run car accident. A biker, reportedly named Maltesh, was severely injured after Chandraprabha’s car hit him near the KSRTC bus stand in Chikkamagaluru on September 4.

Chandraprabha had a word with News18 Kannada regarding this matter. The comedian said that he immediately got out of the car and got the injured person admitted to a hospital after this accident happened. According to him, he was driving the car and his friend was also accompanying him at that time. Chandraprabha said that some of the people are spreading fake news regarding this matter.

The Kannada actor also blamed the bike driver for being in a drunken state and said that the locals had also persuaded him to continue with his journey. He revealed that Chikkamagaluru Police had called him in the morning and informed him that the biker was gravely injured. Chandraprabha added that he is ready to cooperate with the police authorities in every way possible.

He said that the police officials accompanied him even when he had taken the injured person to the hospital. The parents of the injured person, however, claimed that no one had arrived at their house even three days after the accident. Maltesh, hailing from Nagenahalli, is currently being treated at a private hospital located in the Hassan district.

Maltesh’s sister Shivamma talked to the media and said that he has financially supported the family to date. She added that their parents work as daily wage workers. As per reports, Maltesh worked at an apparel shop in Chikkamagaluru and was returning home after work at the time of the accident.

The police have registered an FIR based on the complaint registered by Maltesh’s brother Raghu and are investigating the case. It was not clear at that time if Chandraprabha was behind the wheel at the time of the incident. Now, however, Chandraprabha has accepted that he was driving the car.

Currently, Chandraprabha G plays the role of Pakkada Mane Poornachandra in the popular Kannada comedy show Majaa Talkies.
