The 39-year-old CEO of a Bengaluru-based startup had tried to commit suicide after killing her four-year-old son in a service apartment in North Goa, police said on Tuesday.
The incident reportedly occurred on the intervening night of January 7 and 8 in a service apartment hotel located in North Goa’s Sinquerim.
Suchana Seth allegedly disposed of the child’s body in a bag, loaded it into a taxi she had ordered from the hotel she was staying at, and asked the driver to head towards Bengaluru.

She was arrested by the Goa police while fleeing in a taxi in adjoining Karnataka, when the hotel staff where she stayed, went to clean the room in which she stayed and found blood stains on the towel.
What We Know in Suchana Seth Case So Far?
- As per new information revealed in the investigation, the 39-year-old CEO, after killing her toddler, attempted suicide by cutting her left wrist with a sharp object, a senior police official was quoted by NDTV as saying.
- Seth was from Chitradurga in Karnataka while fleeing with her son’s body in a taxi on Monday night. She was brought to Goa on Tuesday and was remanded six days of police custody by a court in Mapusa town, an official said.
- “The motive behind the killing is yet to be ascertained. We have got six days police custody of the accused and we will thoroughly interrogate her,” an official said.
- The father of the deceased kid, Venkat Raman, who had earlier been reported to be in Indonesia at the time of the incident, has reached the Hiriyur government hospital in Chitradurga.
- The postmortem of the four-year-old kid’s body has started with the permission of the father at the hospital.
- A Calangute police team led by Inspector Paresh Naik is currently in Chitradurga waiting for a post-mortem report of the child’s body, an official told NDTV.
- Seth, who had been separated from her husband, had been mandated by the court after her divorce proceedings in 2020 to allow her ex-husband to meet the child on Sundays, News18 has learnt. She had reportedly not been honouring the arrangement.
- Seth is said to have been frustrated and was also trying to prevent her son from meeting his father and her ex-husband, sources in Goa Police told News18.
- Seth, on the other hand, has been booked under Indian Penal Code (IPC) sections 302 (murder) and 201 (destruction of evidence), and also under the Goa Children’s Act, an official was quoted by NDTV as saying.
