The Rajasthan Roadways administration has implemented a new rule aimed at preventing passengers from travelling without ticket. The Rajasthan Roadways has introduced the ‘Passenger Fault’ rule, under which strict action will now be taken against passengers found without tickets. According to this rule, fines will be imposed on the offenders.

Action Against Passengers

Previously, only conductors faced action if a passenger was found travelling without a ticket. However, under this new rule, passengers will also be held accountable. Before the implementation of the ‘Passenger Fault’ rule, the flying squad could only take action against the conductor and record a red remark. Now, if a passenger is found without a ticket and refuses to pay the fine, the flying squad can file a complaint against that passenger with the police.

Managing Director of Rajasthan Roadways Purushottam Sharma has issued an order directing all depots to implement a system for collecting fines from passengers travelling without tickets as soon as possible.

Response From Jhunjhunu Depot

Ganesh Sharma, chief manager of Jhunjhunu Depot, responded to the order, stating, “Now the passenger will be responsible for showing their ticket. If a passenger has not bought a ticket, he will have to pay fine. At the same time, if the conductor fails to provide a ticket after taking the fare, departmental action will be taken against them.”

Under this new rule, the accountability of the passengers on the roadways has increased, and it will now be mandatory for them to keep their tickets with them during the journey.
