South Korean car manufacturer Hyundai has announced that it has received over one lakh reservations for the Exter in India this year.
Introduced in July 2023 with an initial price of Rs 6 lakh (ex-showroom), the Exter has gained popularity for its attractive design and impressive features.
By October 2023, it had surpassed 75,000 reservations, and within the first month of its release, it crossed the 50,000 mark. Notably, 75 per cent of the reservations were for models with a sunroof.
The compact car has witnessed an impressive 1 lakh reservations in just five months, averaging around 20,000 reservations per month. This reflects the strong consumer enthusiasm and widespread demand for Hyundai’s latest product launch.
Furthermore, the micro-SUV typically has a waiting period of 6-7 months, with the waiting period potentially extending up to 14 months for the entry-level Ex and EX(O) variants. Additionally, there is currently a waiting period of 4–10 months for the mid-spec variants.
According to RushLane, the remarkable total sales figure of 65,801 units was attained by November 2023. Comparing this to the previous year, there was a notable 2.81 per cent growth, reports added. Hyundai also experienced steady sales during the festive season.
2023 Hyundai Exter: All About The Micro-SUV
With an abundance of features, the Hyundai Exter is a car that is unique in its class. It includes roof rails, cladding, alloy wheels, and projector headlamps with LED DRLs.
Furthermore, a smart electric sunroof, auto air conditioning, and a touchscreen infotainment system with support for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are all located inside the cabin. Additionally, Hyundai also has the first dual-camera dash cam in the segment.
The Exter comes in seven different trim levels: S, S (O), EX, EX (O), SX, SX (O), and SX (O). The S and SX trim levels offer CNG options. The Hyundai Exter ranges in price from Rs 6.00 lakh to Rs 10.14 lakh (ex-showroom).
It has a 1.2-litre petrol engine under the hood that can produce up to 82 horsepower and 113.8 Nm of torque. A smart auto AMT (automated manual transmission) or a 5-speed manual transmission (MT) are available to match this engine; the latter has a paddle shifter that is the first in its class. A 1.2-liter bi-fuel kappa petrol engine with CNG is also available; it is mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox.
