Jagdeep will be re-living the famous character 'Soorma Bhopali' of Sholay again but there is a slight twist to it. A producer based in Hyderabad wants to make a spoof film on Ramesh Sippy’s iconic film Sholay.
Jagdeep has been approached to play the role of Soorma Bhopali but the name of the character along with the film’s title will have funny names.
Jagdeep confirms the development. He says, “A producer based in Hyderabad wants to make a spoof on Sholay. He has decided to name it as Sholay Baney Oley. I have accepted the offer to do a role in the film."
Obviously, if the name of the film has been changed, the character names will not be spared. He continues, “My character will be called 'Churma Bhopali' in the film.”
After the success of Sholay (1975), Jagdeep had produced and acted in a film called Soorma Bhopali. Some characters live forever, don’t they?
