Here’s a look at the images of the hot-rod electric motorcycle by Curtiss called the Zeus prototype.

Confederate Motorcycles, a well-known name among the custom motorcycle owners, changed its name to Curtiss - in honor of Glen Curtiss, the inventor of the V-twin engine. Strangely enough, even after naming the company after I.C Engine’s V-Twin configuration manufacturer, the company pledged to make only electric motorcycles now onwards. There last I.C engine project was the Warhawk motorcycle, a V-Twin bike whose 35 examples were ever built. Curtiss has now manufactured their first promised electric motorcycle called the Zeus prototype. Here’s a look at the images and savour the hot-rod design –

The Curtiss Zeus Prototype All-Electric Motorcycle is a battery-powered two-wheeler that aims "to future-proof the all-American hot rod." The Zeus Prototype was unveiled at the Quail Motorcycle Gathering and will be made available by 2020.

Ahead of unveiling the Zeus Prototype, Curtiss said they will be unveiling an electric bike called Hercules at the Quail. However, the final product launched at the Quail was Zeus, without an official price tag.

The Alabama-based company also said they worked with Zero Motorcycles on the drivetrain for Hercules and will be retailed at $30,000. It is unclear whether the Zeus is a re-christened Hercules, or if Hercules is yet to be launched.

The Zeus Prototype is powered by a 14-kWh battery pack and is described by its makers as "the world's first E-Twin power unit." The unit basically has a two high-output electric motors working a common output shaft. Reports suggest Zeus produces somewhere around 170 horsepower and 290 pound-feet of torque.

The looks alone makes it stand out of the crowd, looks like it is rumbled out of a block of machined aluminum. Fitment includes Race Tech shocks front and rear, Beringer double rotor brakes, carbon fiber wheels, LED lighting, and an iPad in the dash.
