The terminal building of Ayodhya Airport consists of various sustainable features like an insulated roofing system, LED lighting, rainwater harvesting, landscaping with fountains, a water treatment plant, a sewage treatment plant, solar power plant, among others.
Such features have been provided to meet Green Rating for Integrated Habitat Assessment (GRIHA) ratings. It is a rating tool that helps tourists assess the performance of a building against nationally acceptable benchmarks.
Apart from infrastructure, the airport will also improve connectivity, leading to a boost in tourism, business activities, and employment opportunities.
Meanwhile, to promote the city and list it as a top destination, Minister of Civil Aviation Jyotiraditya Scindia asked the leading airlines to start connecting Ayodhya with international destinations as well.
