The biggest wrestling event of the summer is set to take place this weekend as WWE action moves to the Cleveland Browns Stadium on August 3. The company will organise its third-longest running pay-per-view WWE SummerSlam 2024 this Saturday in Ohio. The match card for the event is slowly shaping up with seven fights being announced so far. Six of these matches are title defences featuring the company’s biggest stars like Cody Rhodes, Damian Priest, Bayley, Rhea Ripley, Sami Zayn and Logan Paul. In the only non-title match advertised so far, CM Punk will be looking to end his ongoing feud with Drew McIntyre. Ex-World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins will be the guest referee for the upcoming clash.

WWE World Heavyweight Championship – Damian Priest (c) vs Gunther
Following his successful World Heavyweight Championship defence against Seth Rollins, Damian Priest is now set to take on the King of the Ring 2024 winner Gunther at SummerSlam. This will be the first time Priest will face Gunther in a Championship match. The Archer of Infamy has already endured an impressive reign since cashing in the Money in the Bank contract on Drew McIntyre at WrestleMania XL and will be hoping to continue as champion.
WWE Women’s Championship – Bayley (c) vs Nia Jax
Since dethroning IYO SKY as the Women’s Champion, Bayley has retained her title once against Piper Niven at WWE Clash at the Castle. She will now defend her championship against Nia Jax who dominated the Queen of the Ring tournament, beating Lyra Valkyria in the final. Jax is likely going to be one of the strongest opponents Bayley has ever faced.
Women’s World Championship – Liv Morgan (c) vs Rhea Ripley
Rhea Ripley is plotting her revenge against Liv Morgan at WWE SummerSlam. Morgan had injured Ripley which forced her to relinquish the women’s title. She then won the belt against Becky Lynch before turning her attention to Dominik Mysterio and The Judgment Day. Given the personal history between the two divas stars, this match-up will likely be an electric affair.
Undisputed WWE Championship – Cody Rhodes (c) vs Solo Sikoa
After swearing himself as the Tribal Chief, Solo Sikoa is now eyeing to bring back the WWE Undisputed Championship to The Bloodline. In a recent promo, Sikoa talked about how the now-former Tribal Chief Roman Reigns brought shame to their family by losing the title to Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania 40. Sikoa now hopes to take the title back before Reigns returns to the company.
WWE United States Championship – Logan Paul vs LA Knight
LA Knight has been a thorn in the side of Logan Paul for a while now. He even went to the Champion’s house to throw a one-man pool party. The animosity between the two has increased greatly since. Knight recently pinned Paul during a Money in the Bank Triple Threat Qualifying match which means there are good chances of him walking out of SummerSlam as the US title winner.
WWE Intercontinental Championship – Sami Zayn vs Bron Breakker
Sami Zayn achieved the unthinkable when he beat Gunther for the Intercontinental Championship at WrestleMania 40. He is now set to face Bron Breakker once again at SummerSlam in a title defence. Zayn had previously beaten Breakker at WWE Money in the Bank but it seems like the challenger isn’t done just yet.
CM Punk vs Drew McIntyre with Guest Referee Seth Rollins
Drew McIntyre is one of those wrestlers who has not been too happy about CM Punk’s return to the company. The animosity between the two grew even further after Punk cost the Scotsman his newly-won WWE World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania 40. McIntyre recently attacked Punk on RAW and is now set to face the former WWE Champion at SummerSlam.
