President Mukherjee addresses Israeli Parliament Knesset, thanks them for Kargil help
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu also spoke at the Knesset after Mukherjee's address.

Tel Aviv/Jerusalem: President Pranab Mukherjee became the first Indian head of state to address the Israeli Parliament known as Knesset. Mukherjee who is in Israel on the last day of his three nation tour comprising of Jordan, Palestine and Israel, addressed the Knesset on Wednesday.

He thanked Israel for support rendered to India during the Kargil war. He said that the relations have taken a positive trajectory after that. Mukherjee skipped any mention of Palestine during his address to Knesset.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu also spoke at the Knesset after Mukherjee's address. He has said that the Prime Minister Narendra Modi had told him during their earlier meeting that "India wants Israel". That I cannot carry out dairy, agriculture and other revolution in India without the Israeli support”. He added that both Narendra Modi and him speak quite often.

Netanyahu said that Israel is facing terror, but will prevail. He reiterated that the Palestinians will have to recognise the Israeli state.
