Minutes after a Pokhra-bound domestic Saurya Aircraft carrying 19 people slipped off the runway and crashed Wednesday while trying to take off from the airport serving Nepal’s capital, visuals that emerged from the site showed the moments when the accident took place and turned into a ball of fire.
A CCTV footage shows the exact moment when the plane crashed and smashed on the ground and smoke started rising around 11 am.
One of the videos reported by local media and circulated on social media shows fumes and smoke rising from the crash site as fire tenders brave all odds to save the victims.

The video also shows the residents from near the site rushing to offer help to the rescue workers.

Another video captured the fall from behind a parked aircraft at the Tribhuvan International Airport.

The pilot survived the crash and was taken to the Kathmandu Medical College Hospital for treatment, a doctor attending him told news agency Associated Press. The doctor added that the pilot has received injuries to the eyes but he is out of danger.
A fire that broke out from the aircraft has been put off. Police and firefighters are carrying out rescue operations at the accident site. It is being feared that the 18 other people are dead.
It is monsoon rainy season in Kathmandu but was not raining at the time of the crash. Visibility was low across the capital, however.
Saurya Airlines is a domestic carrier with a fleet of just 3 airplanes, all Bombardier CRJ 200. Each aircraft has a capacity of 50 passengers.
