Donald Trump Makes Fun Ex-RNC Chair Ronna McDaniel After NBC Scraps Contract
Ronna McDaniel was the head of the Republican National Committee facing pressure from Donald Trump and his allies.

Former US president Donald Trump made fun of former head of the Republican National Committee Ronna McDaniel after NBC News ended its contract with her after there was an internal uproar within the media company following her hiring.

The media outlet announced days earlier that Ronna McDaniel was joining the outlet as a contributor.

“Wow! Ronna McDaniel got fired by Fake News NBC. She only lasted two days, and this after McDaniel went out of her way to say what they wanted to hear,” Trump wrote on his Truth Social website on Tuesday. “It leaves her in a very strange place, it’s called NEVER NEVERLAND, and it’s not a place you want to be,” Trump further added.

“These Radical Left Lunatics are CRAZY, and the top people at NBC ARE WEAK. They were BROKEN and EMBARRASSED by LOW RATINGS, HIGHLY OVERPAID, ‘TALENT.’ BRING BACK FREE AND FAIR PRESS,” the former US president said.

Trump was referring to Ronna McDaniel’s change of stance where she said that the January 6 Capitol Hill riots were unacceptable. She stood by Donald Trump’s false claims that the election was rigged when she was the RNC chair.

“We should not be attacking the Capitol; we should not be having violence… When you’re the RNC chair, you kind of take one for the whole team. Right now, I get to be a little bit more myself,” she said.

Trump was trying to indicate that Ronna McDaniel was not welcome in the anti-Trump camp at the NBC and also not welcome at the Republican Party because of her shift in stance and also because the Republican Party largely sides with Trump.

The Republican National Committee elected Donald Trump allies, including his daughter-in-law, Lara Trump, to top leadership positions Friday, tightening the former president’s grip over the party ahead of the November election.

Michael Whatley, the leader of the Republican Party in North Carolina, and Trump’s daughter-in-law Lara Trump were elected respectively RNC chair and co-chair by voice vote at a meeting of the 168 RNC members in Houston.

During her tenure as RNC chair, she participated in a 2020 phone call urging Michigan county officials to refrain from certifying the vote but last week said that Biden won the 2020 election “fair and square”.

She also faced backlash from her would-be colleagues who not only lambasted her but also questioned the channel. Veteran NBC anchor Chuck Todd and Rachel Maddow, one of the network’s most popular prime-time hosts, pointed out that she contributed to Trump’s effort to overturn the 2020 election and highlighted her past statements about the integrity of the 2020 election.

“There’s a reason why there are a lot of journalists at NBC News uncomfortable with this, because many of our professional dealings with the RNC over the last six years have been met with gaslighting, have been met with character assassination,” Todd said.

NBCUniversal News Group Chair Cesar Conde apologised for bringing McDaniel on board as a paid contributor and explained the decision “was made because of our deep commitment to presenting our audiences with a widely diverse set of viewpoints and experiences, particularly during these consequential times” in a note to staff.

McDaniel was reportedly exploring legal options in the event the network terminated its agreement with her. The NBC contract was slated to pay her more than six figures yearly.
