Woman Shocks Passengers After She Was Spotted Sleeping In Plane's Overhead Bin

A recent video captures a woman stretched out comfortably inside an overhead luggage compartment on a Southwest Airlines flight scheduled from Albuquerque, Mexico to Phoenix, US on May 6. The clip which was originally posted on TikTok, features the unidentified woman sleeping peacefully in the storage space, while the people can be heard laughing hysterically in the background. The motive behind this unconventional use of the overhead bin as an improvised bed and how she initially reached the top remains a mystery.

Neither the woman nor the airline has responded to the viral video yet. After New York Post shared the video on Instagram, it quickly went viral and garnered over 34,000 views. Interestingly, this isn’t the first instance of someone being found sleeping or hiding in a flight’s luggage compartment, similar incidents have happened with other airlines in the past. Social media users in the comments section are wondering whether the woman was a passenger or a crew member.

Reacting to the clip, a user joked, “Her: WHO TF WAS THAT GIRL YOU WERE TALKING TOO? Him: The flight attendant asking me if I wanted water.”

Earlier, a flight attendant of Southwest Airlines decided to pull a prank by hiding in the overhead bin before passengers boarded. An unexpected incident was captured by a stunned passenger named Veronica Lloyd and she shared the clip on X. Reportedly, the incident, captured by Lloyd while she was returning home to Pennsylvania, happened before the plane’s doors were closed. In the footage, the unnamed female attendant is seen initially lying on her side before rolling into her stomach.

Describing the unusual act as a joke, the airline clarified that the flight attendant jumped down from the compartment 10 minutes later. She then continued with her duties as usual and ensured the flight proceeded without any interruptions.
