'We Are Disappointed': Manali Woman's Rant About Tourists From Delhi, Punjab And Haryana Goes Viral
"I am sorry to say, but those coming from Punjab, Haryana, and Delhi are very annoying," the woman said.

Himachal Pradesh is a popular tourist destination, with places like Kullu, Shimla and Manali drawing large crowds each year. However, this influx of visitors has created challenges for the local residents, as highlighted by a Manali woman in a viral video. In an interview with a local news channel, she expressed her concerns about tourists, particularly from Delhi, Haryana, and Punjab, criticising their irresponsible behaviour, mistreatment of locals and reckless driving in the region’s hilly terrain.

While the woman chose to remain anonymous in the video, she did not hold back from voicing her strong criticism. “A Himachali sister living in Chandigarh explains why Himachali people do not like Punjabi Haryanvi and Delhi people,” the caption read.

“I am sorry to say, but those coming from Punjab, Haryana, and Delhi are very annoying. They do a lot of pollution and also indulge in very rash driving. If you tell them anything, they would turn to road rage,” she said in the video. The woman, whose hometown is near Manali, further emphasised how dangerous the hilly roads can be, even for locals. She also mentioned that she makes a conscious effort to drive safely to navigate these challenging routes.

“They do not know how to manoeuvre their cars in the hills and drive on the bends. Apna GT road samjh ke uda ke lekey jaatey hain. Our cattle and animals are often found dead on the roads because of such rash drivers,” she continued. The woman also highlighted how the tourists add to the noise pollution by playing loud music and speeding up. “I understand that they come here to relax and have fun, but there should be some responsibility toward the local culture. This is where we feel disappointed,” the woman said.

The video quickly went viral, drawing a flood of reactions from social media users, many of whom were divided in their opinions about the woman’s comments.

A user wrote, “She’s right tho.”

Another commented, “Uttarakhand is also troubled by some external anti-social elements.”

“An intelligent courageous girl,” a comment read.

And one more added, “I totally agree with every word she’s saying. There’s not a single thing I’d disagree with. If you don’t want to respect the culture of Himachal, the least you can do is respect the Mountains!”

One of the users shared, “She is talking about the college students who come there on weekends to drink and party. Families who come from Punjab and Haryana are decent of course.”

The video was originally shared on the Instagram handle of Calliastaad.
