A fatal accident was averted after two domestic helpers were rescued from the stuck lift at Jaypee Wishtown Society, Sector 134, Noida. They were reportedly stuck in the lift for about one hour. They cried for help, none seemed to reach the ears of the guards and the maintenance people for about an hour. They tried to notify security by pressing an emergency alarm button but their distress calls were received by anyone for a long time. After one hour, the guards and maintenance staff reached the location and saved them. The video of the incident has gone viral now. As per report, society’s residents have been constantly complaining about the lack of proper maintenance of the lift.

The domestic helpers would have never thought that taking a lift could be troublesome for them while going to work. In the viral video, two women – one in red and another in yellow salwar kurta – were reportedly going up in the lift of the society before it stopped due to a technical fault. After the lift stopped, the women pressed the emergency button, but they could not get any help. The incident is said to have happened on Sunday morning, on June 23.

The guards reached the location and tried to open the lift’s door, but their bare hands weren’t enough to split open the doors. After some time, the maintenance staff reached the lift and opened the door. In the video, the domestic helpers were seen jumping from the lift stuck just above the ground floor. With the support of guards, they climbed out of the lift. A page named Greater Noida Residents on Instagram shared the video of the incident which has gone viral in no time.

The negligence towards the maintenance of the lift has always been a trouble for residents and visitors. “Ye noida ke har society me har din ka hai ye sab ( Translation: It is an everyday problem in Noida’s societies),” wrote one of the users in the comment section of the post.
