Watch: Rs 100-Crore Apartments In Gurugram Become 'Sea Facing' After 30 Mins Of Rain
A former Meta employee dropped an X post, shedding light on the condition outside DLF Camellias at Golf Course Road which is regarded as one of the most upscale residential societies in Gurugram.

Several neighbourhoods in Gurugram were left waterlogged after the city witnessed a spell of heavy rainfall on Wednesday, September 4. Locals had to battle knee-deep water and the traffic movement was also affected in many areas. The situation seemed to be the same even in the posh localities where luxury cars were seen driving through waterlogged streets. A former Meta employee, Anushri Pawar, dropped a post on X, shedding light on the condition outside DLF Camellias at Golf Course Road which is regarded as one of the most upscale residential societies in Gurugram.

The high-rise apartments by DLF recently hit the headlines after it was learnt that flats were sold there for as high as Rs 100 crore. Pawar sarcastically mentioned that those buildings turned into “sea-facing” apartments in just half an hour of rain. Her post featured a video which captured water-logged roads outside two of the city’s biggest ultra-luxury housing projects– DLF Magnolias and DLF Camellias.

“What should we call this? River Facing or Sea Facing? This is the condition of Roads in front of Rs 100 crore Camellias and Magnolias at the Golf Course Road in Gurgaon. This is the condition of roads in just half an hour of rain, and people here will still buy flats for Rs 100 crores,” Pawar wrote in the caption.

The post attracted reactions from many people staying in the other parts of Delhi NCR. A resident of Noida revealed in the comment section that the condition of roads in his city is far better. “Have never seen such a thing in Noida. My place is fabulous,” noted the person.

Another viewer claimed, “This happens when we run behind money and fail as a society.”

One user felt this sort of incident should be seen as an “indication that all the major cities lack a proper rainwater drainage circuit parallel to all the roads.” “What we are seeing is nothing else but poor city infrastructure design lacking a rain drainage system,” he mentioned.

An individual shared that the poor drainage system was one of the reasons for him to move out of Delhi NCR. “I live in Goa now, and although it rains 14-15 hours a day during monsoon here, however no waterlogging at all. If Delhi NCR gets one day of rain like Goa, every place will be flooded,” he added in the comment.

Earlier this year, four luxurious apartments at DLF Camellias were sold for Rs 106.4 crore each. As per IndexTap, those properties were purchased by Rahul Dhanuka, joint managing director of Dhanuka Agritech; executive director of the company Harsh Dhanuka, group chairman Ram Gopal Agarwal and Lenskart co-founder Peyush Bansal.
