Since social media has become a part of our lives, we have been exposed to many interesting things in nature. Currently, a similar kind of video is doing rounds online, showing the Gulabi Pateri goat, a popular goat breed in the Middle East, Pakistan and India. The video on the Instagram account named @wildheart_500 shows 3 Gulabi Pateri goats with distinctive long ears.

The length of the Gulabi Pateri goat’s ears hand past the shoulder and reaches their feet showing their excessive size. The video informs users that apart from their ears, these goats are valued for their rich milk and quality meat. These animals have a docile and friendly nature which makes them easy to manage.

In countries like the United States of America and China, these goats are kept as pets and admired for their unique look. The video concludes with the voiceover saying, “These goats are truly one of a kind”. The video has garnered more than 23 million views and counting.

Social media users came up with different reactions after watching this clip. One of them commented, “Inbreeding at its worst”. Another commented, “They are skin and bones, poor goat is hungry”. Rest also wrote that these animals don’t look healthy as they are not walking well.

According to Garden Farm Thrive, Gulabi Pateri goats are uniquely all-white in colour with pink skin. The word Gulabi means pink. The white hair with underlying pink skin gives this breed a soft pink appearance. The toes and horns of these animals are white.

Gulabi Pateri goats need a large shelter that will allow them to escape the wet and cooler weather. The inside of their shelter needs to be dry and warm all of the time. People need to be sure that the floor is dry, even during heavy periods of rain, to help reduce problems with hoof rot. The goat’s fences should be sturdy enough to withstand the heavy weight pushing on them. Goat fencing and electrical wire are the best options.

Gulabi Pateri goats do have horns. People who are rearing them should avoid livestock or field fencing that has larger holes.
