The song Jimmy Jimmy remains memorable till date, not just in India, but in international land as well. Interestingly, the director of the movie, B Subhash, once admitted that he was initially unhappy with the song’s outcome, after it was recorded.

Talking to Hindustan Times, Subhash shared, “Parvati Khan, who recorded Jimmy Jimmy Jimmy Aaja, was very new at that time. After the song was recorded, I felt that the right emotion wasn’t coming through. So, Bappi da sat with a recording machine in Mehboob Studio and incorporated a double voice. When the song was released, it became a worldwide phenomenon. It became a rage even in China, Israel and the UK. Bappi da knew everything about music. He could play many instruments including the guitar and the piano.”

Other than Chakraborty, Disco Dancer featured Kim, Om Puri, Gita Siddharth and Karan Razdan in key roles, while Rajesh Khanna made a cameo appearance.
