A video capturing a fan’s enthusiastic response to Shubman Gill’s arrival at the team hotel is making waves on social media. The Gujarat Titans captain was greeted with applause as he walked through the lobby, with one hotel staff member visibly stunned by his presence.

Among these fans, a female hotel staff member could be seen putting her hands over her chest in disbelief as she watched the cricket star walk before him. Shubman Gill was announced as the new skipper of Gujarat Titans after Hardik Pandya left for the Mumbai Indians ahead of IPL 2024. Gill has been one of the rising stars in Indian cricket for a while now. He had a stellar IPL season last year where the young batter smashed an incredible 890 runs. He has also made the final on two occasions while winning the trophy in 2022. As for the ongoing 2024, Gill has played six matches while scoring 255 runs. He has managed these numbers while maintaining an average of 51.00 and a strike rate of 151.78. He has already scored two half-centuries this season.

Shubman Gill will be leading the Gujarat Titans again this week against the Delhi Capitals. The two-time IPL finalists will be facing the Rishabh Pant-led side at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on April 17. Gujarat will be looking to add a fourth win in their current campaign with hopes of making the playoffs for the third successive time.
