The hospitality business has boomed in the last few years. Now, a primitive hotel in Sweden is gaining all the limelight for its unique facilities and theme. Kolarbyn Eco-lodge in the forests of Sweden has been dubbed as the country’s “most primitive hostel” as it offers mud lodges for a stay without running water or electricity. “There will be no electricity, no showers, nothing fancy at all, just natural mysteriousness,” reads the website of Kolarbyn Eco-lodge.

The hotel offers 12 lodges where the resident’s ability to survive is tested. These huts are made of mud and wood and the mushrooms grow on their roofs. The hotel owners have tried to recreate the times when people had to cut trees to light fires and go to the spring themselves to collect water.

There are no shops nearby to buy food items. Kolarbyn Eco-lodge has a pantry which also consists of basic food items. However, for the fruits and other necessities, the guests have to wander in forests to search for them. Each hut offers two single beds with sleeping bags, blankets and pillows so you can get warmth at night. The photos of the lodges are now going viral.
