Having twin students in school is not a new thing, but having fourteen pairs of twins in the same school is somewhat shocking. In a similar coincidence, Cooper City High School in South Florida is drawing the attention of the public in an amazing instance after fourteen sets of twins and one set of triplets graduated from the same school earlier this month. The remarkable similarity among the twins, both in appearance and behaviour, has left the principals and crowd puzzled.
As per a New York Post report, out of the 543 graduates at Cooper City High School, there were two sets of identical twins and 12 sets of fraternal twins.
Principal Vera Perkovic, while speaking to NBC 6 South Florida, said, “Well, we knew we had quite a few twins seeing them around campus. We didn’t quite know the actual number until just recently when a parent brought it up. It was very special as they would come across the stage, I would shake their hand and give one a diploma, and then the second one would come over to do the same thing.”
“It’s kind of just symbolised that they are their people, but also that they have been together all these years as twins,” she added.
A student named Jocelyn Reed said, “Your whole life when you’re a twin, you kind of stand out. People are always pointing it out to you and talking about how you are a twin. So, it is kind of crazy to see that there are so many other people in the same situation,” reported NBC Miami.
Jocelyn Reed’s sister Gabrielle, on the other hand, said that most of the twins and triplets are now getting ready to take their paths to college after having been in classes together since elementary school. She expressed that she was excited to go somewhere separate and be on her own.
“Everywhere I go, I’m lumped together with her and not seen as my person, so I’m excited to be able to have my own experiences,” she added.
