However, as fans search for the gangster film Angels With Filthy Souls, the black and white movie watched by Kevin in the film to outsmart burglars, they realise it was never a real film and surprisingly, it was made solely for the movie’s plot. Though brief glimpses are available in Home Alone DVDs’ featurettes, eager fans are now demanding a full length adaptation. People who grew up watching the classic Christmas film, are eager to witness the complete story behind the film that leads to the exact scene.

Seth Rogen took to the internet a few years back and made shocking revelations to the fans. Meanwhile, the famous scene was filmed in an abandoned high school in the early stages of production, as reported by Vanity Fair in 2015. To achieve its signature film noir aesthetic, the scene was enhanced with Venetian blinds. Interestingly, the fictitious movie was heavily inspired from a real 1938 crime film titled Angels With Dirty Faces. The original movie starred renowned actors James Cagney, Humphrey Bogart, and Pat O’Brien in key roles. Now fans want a full length film.

The title, inspired by James Cagney’s film Angels with Dirty Faces, was decided much later. Art director Dan Webster highlighted that the title choice was primarily made to create a label for the videotape used by Kevin in the VHS player.
