We often hear about jobs for mechanics in different sectors. If you are a car mechanic and also have an interest in joining the intelligence department then you shouldn’t miss this opportunity. According to reports, the intelligence department of this country is hiring mechanics who can enhance the performance of the vehicles they use. An official online notification has been released for the position. The monthly salary of this job can amount to lakhs.
The United Kingdom’s counter-intelligence and security department MI5 (Military Intelligence- Section 5) recently announced a recruitment drive for the position of Vehicle Technician for its Operational and Surveillance wing. As per the reports, the role is a full-time role and the annual salary will range between 35,952 Pounds (approximately Rs 38 lakhs) and 40,629 pounds (approximately Rs 40 lakhs).
The selected candidate will be responsible to oversee and repair the vehicles used by the agency. The job description posted online reads, “Day to day, you need to provide professional diagnostic and repair services across our range of vehicles, ensuring they’re maintained to the highest standards to meet our organisation’s requirements. This could range from changing a tyre or lamp filament, or diagnosing an electrical glitch in an air conditioning system, right through to stripping down and re-building an entire transmission system.”
The person selected for the position will get proper training from senior technicians deployed to do similar jobs. In this job, a person will get a chance to gain experience and grow confidence in working autonomously without anyone’s help. All the equipment and the tools will be provided by the agency itself. Adding to it, the department will also bear the cost of extra training if needed for the job role.
The selected candidates will initially be posted at MI5’s workshop in West London. The selected candidates will receive various perks like 25 days of annual leave along with 10.5 days of public and privileged holidays, Onsite gym, Paid parental and adoption leave and a pension scheme.
