A cab driver in Hyderbad is taking a stand against Public Displays of Affection (PDA) by couples in his vehicle. In order to discourage couples from kissing, hugging, or holding hands, the cab driver has urged his passengers to refrain from engaging in “romance” inside the cab, reminding them that it is neither their “private place” nor a hotel room they’ve booked.
The “warning”, printed in black ink, laminated, and affixed to one of the seats, reads, “No romance. This is a cab, not your private place or OYO so please keep distance and stay calm (sic).” The picture was originally posted on X (formerly known as Twitter) by Venkatesh with the caption, “Things in Hyderabad cabs.” Venkatesh tagged X account Hi Hyderabad in their post. The account regularly shares content about the city and reposts posts from its residents.
Hi Hyderabad resposted the picture with three emoticons – an oncoming taxi, a warning sign and a laughing emoticon.
Take a look at the viral poster here:

The picture, shared on October 20 on social media, has garnered over 86,000 views and numerous likes. Many even flocked to the comments section of the post to share their thoughts.
Here’s how people reacted to this warning by the cab driver:
An individual wrote, “Innovative idea.” Another commented, “Correct. Good to have somebody realise this. Girls and boys should control their urges.”
“An ethical and essential message for cab passengers,” expressed a third.
A fourth posted, “After seeing so many, he could not bear it and gave this warning.”
This, however, is not the first time a cab driver has listed a set of rules for passengers. Recently, a cabbie in Bengaluru posted six rules that read: “You are not the owner of the cab. The person driving the cab is the owner. Speak politely and show respect. Close the door slowly. Please put your attitude in your pocket; don’t show it to us because you are not giving us more money. Don’t call us bhaiya. (sic)”
The poster also includes a note that reads: “Don’t say to drive fast; be on time.”
