Ever Heard About 'Fruit Samosa'? It Is Not What You Think
Viewers were surprised to see that the samosa is actually stuffed with regular mashed potatoes and not fruits as he initially suggested.

Heard of someone going to great lengths to make sure you remember something? Be it a friend, family or your teacher, you might have come across people who have unique, and often bizarre, ways to make sure their words have firmly etched into your memory. Trying the same, a social media influencer and motivational speaker has applied an unconventional trick to teach English to his followers and made the best use of one thing we’re surrounded by, and yet intrigued, and scared of – bizarre food combinations! Who can forget the recipes that mix noodles and Gulab Jamun or Maggie and Fanta?

Taking this into consideration, this popular vlogger has shared a video that has now gone viral. In the video, Gaurav Khanna can be seen enjoying a samosa in his car. He explains that it is actually a fruit samosa. As the viewers get curious, he breaks it open and one can see that the samosa is actually stuffed with regular mashed potatoes, and not fruits as he initially suggested.

Gaurav immediately says, “Samosas are only made with potato stuffing. There is nothing called a fruit samosa.”

Then, he goes on to use this as an example to explain the English phrase “to mull over,” which means to deeply contemplate something. “For example: You must be mulling over the concept of fruit samosa,” he adds.

In his caption, he also clarifies “Some people think Rissole is the English word for Samosa but no,it’s not. Samosa is also Samosa in English. It’s an Indian food item name and obviously, names don’t change from language to language.”

The comments section of the video is filled with a variety of reactions, ranging from surprise to amusement. Many viewers expressed disbelief at the twist in the video, with some confessing that they were genuinely convinced it was a fruit samosa. A user wrote, “English sikhane ka tarika thoda atrangi hai.”

Another said, “You never fail to surprise.” “I was 100% convinced it was a fruit samosa,” read another comment.

However, it was the comment from food aggregator app Swiggy’s official Instagram page that demanded attention. Swiggy joked saying, “Bhai, aise ideas mat do, koi sach mein fruit samosa bana dega. (Brother, don’t share such ideas, as someone will actually make fruit samosas.)”
