When you think of a 63-year-old woman, dancing might not be the first thing that comes to mind. However, Mumbai-based Ravi Bala Sharma is defying expectations and captivating lakhs with her impressive dance performances. Known online as ‘Dancing Dadi,’ Sharma has become a social media sensation, even earning praise from celebrities like Sara Ali Khan and Alia Bhatt.

Previously a music teacher in Uttar Pradesh, Sharma moved to Mumbai after retirement. When the Covid-19 pandemic-induced lockdown halted her activities, she seized the opportunity to pursue her passion for dance through social media. Her videos quickly gained widespread attention, propelling her to fame.

In an interview, she shared that her success would not have been possible without the support of her son, Ekansh. Her dance clips regularly make waves, and have earned her a following of over 6 lakh on Instagram and garnered lakhs of views. Remarkably, at 63, her performances consistently receive positive feedback from viewers.

Whether the tracks are from stars like Madhuri Dixit, Deepika Padukone, or Bhumi Pednekar, Sharma’s choreography and engagement with her audience remain exceptional.
