Saubhagyavati Bhava was one of the most successful Indian television series in 2011. The audience was captivated by the drama and great performances by the leads, Karanvir Bohra and Sriti Jha. The cult show is set to be back on screen with its new season which promises a gripping plot that will capture fans, with stellar performances by Dheeraj Dhoopar as Raghav Jindal and Amandeep Sidhu as Siya. Karanvir Bohra has also reprised his role as Viraj Dobriyal in the sequel. The second season premiered on September 26, and as fans are eager to witness the drama unfold, Dheeraj Dhoopar shares his insights on the character and iconic show.
In an interview with ETimes, speaking about his character, Raghav Jindal, Dheeraj Dhoopar mentioned that it is indeed different from other roles he has done before. “He is a very complex character. The way he reacts to the situations in his life. His interpersonal relationships with his wife, family, colleagues, and everyone around this is very different,” added Dheeraj. The actor says that when the viewers witness him portraying Raghav, they should believe that, as an actor, he is capable of handling this role. “My goal is to achieve character,” remarked Dheeraj.
In order to ace the character, Dheeraj Dhoopar aims to add his “personal touch” on the show. He mentioned. “ I bring a certain kind of body language to it. A certain kind of expression and the way I express myself on screen. So I shall add inputs to my character.” Moreover, he added that the crew including the creative director, the director, and everyone are very supportive and assisting him in making the character memorable. He is confident that the audience will like the show.
Dheeraj Dhoopar expressed that there was no reason for him to deny the role in Saubhagyavati Bhava: Niyam aur Shartein Laagu. He said, “I haven’t done anything like this in my entire career and this is what I was looking for. Before signing this show, 15 days back I was having a conversation with someone about the kind of work I was searching for and I got Saubhagyavati. The team, the storyline, the characteristics of the character everything made me say a big yes.”
The show will air from Monday to Friday at 10 p.m. on Star Bharat. The first season became famous as a social drama that ran on the defunct channel Life OK until 2013. The plot centred around a woman’s effort to break free from her abusive, obsessed husband.
