New Delhi: TAG Heuer will sell its smartwatch for an exuberant price of $1,400, which is still lesser than the gold edition Apple Watch.
Developed in alliance with Google and Intel Corp, the TAG Heuer watch makes the company Apple's biggest Swiss competitor for connected timepieces.
A Bloomberg report notes that the watch will start selling in October or November this year and will be fitted with a battery that will last about 40 hours, which is drastically above Apple Watch's 18 hour-long battery life.
Jean-Claude Biver, who heads the watchmaking activities of the brand's owner, LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton SE, said that the Apple Watch may get younger consumers who are interested in wearing a connected watch for the first time.
He further hoped that Apple sells millions and millions of its Apple Watch, because "the more they sell the more a few people will want something different and come to TAG Heuer."
The Apple Watch is the tech giant's newest product in five years and costs $349 for a basic model and the range goes up to $17,000 for a gold edition.
