The Samsung Galaxy Labs app that lets users tweak the Samsung phone’s performance is now getting a new update that brings two new modules – Memory Guardian and Thermal Guardian. The new update also upgrades existing modules such as the Battery Guardian that lets users optimise battery usage. With the latest Memory Guardian and Thermal Guardian, Samsung Galaxy smartphone users can adjust RAM usage and CPU throttling, respectively. These modules will be useful for gamers who can now adjust phone performance manually for the most optimum result.
According to Android Police, the Thermal Guardian module on the Galaxy Labs app lets users essentially control CPU performance, but at the cost of the device’s thermal temperature. It means that users can increase or decrease the phone’s internal temperature by up to 2 degrees to get desirable CPU output. Whether the user chooses to up or down the CPU throttling, the changes affect the phone’s performance and lifespan substantially. For instance, if we are looking at an old Samsung Galaxy phone, an extra bump in juice could make the device run faster. On the other hand, knocking the CPU’s heat output down by two degrees could help newer Samsung phones last longer.
Similarly, the latest Memory Guardian allows users to see how RAM is allocated. Users can clear running background apps to make the phone run faster. Both Thermal Guardian and Memory Guardian module can up the gaming output if used correctly.
The report adds that the File Guardian on the Samsung Galaxy Labs app has now been deprecated as that most Samsung apps feature a recycle bin of their own. The Battery Tracker module has received a small visual refresh, and its seven-day chart now displays your screen-on time, just like the 24-hour chart. Whereas, the Battery Guardian has also received some new tweaks that will increase the battery life of the device. The Galaxy Labs update should be available now through the Galaxy Store.
