Google Glass' business chief Chris O'Neill quits
Chris O’Neill joined Google in 2005 and was hired for the Google X division in May 2014.

New Delhi: Global business head of Google X, Chris O’Neill is stepping down from his position at the search giant’s research lab after thirteen months.

Google X- the company’s moonshot division, has been attributed with projects including the controversial wearable gadget-Google Glass, self-driving car, and Project Loon.

According to Re/code, O’ Neill who led the business operations for Google Glass would be staying at Google, but there is no word on the position or the project he would take next.

The hi-tech wearable gadget was first rolled out under Google’s Explorer Program which sold it for $1500. However, with the privacy concerns attached to the device, it has not been rolled out to consumers.

O’Neill joined Google in 2005 and has held finance and sales roles before. He was also the director of retail of the company and joined the Glass project after four years as managing director for Google Canada.
