New Delhi: Celebrating 30 years of Nintendo’s iconic video game character, Mario, Google has hidden an Easter Egg in its search results for the popular game.

If you search ‘Super Mario Bros,’ you will see a small question box on the right. Keep clicking on the box to listen to the familiar 8-bit game point sound and collect 200-point coins.

Other than Nintendo and Google, Microsoft too showed off its love for the popular game that first hit the screens under his own name on September 13, 1985. The software giant had hidden another Easter Egg in its own website, although it was part of ‘8-bit Day’, a celebration of the low-resolution format of arcade games of the 1980s.

On Sunday, which marked the 30th anniversary of the hyperactive mustached plumber, if you visited Microsoft’s website and type in up arrow, up arrow, down arrow, down arrow, left arrow, right arrow, left arrow, right arrow, B, A (a version of the cheat code used in many of Konami's old console games), you were treated to an 8-bit version of the Windows 10 Ninja Cat riding a T-Rex popped at the bottom of the homepage.

The animals brought with them loads of quarters and an ‘Insert Coin to Play’ window. Once you put a quarter into the slot, it suggested search topics for old arcade games including Pac-Man, The Legend of Zelda games and Frogger.

Nintendo has sold more than 310 million units featuring the plucky plumber's adventures fighting off Goombas and Koopa Troopas as he races to save Princess Peach.
