On Tuesday, September 22, Gmail updated its email options to include "Block", and "Unsubscribe" is now available on Android devices, in an effort to reduce unwanted mail.
As of September 22, Gmail users are able to considerably reduce the amount of spam that ends up in their inbox using the new option "Block". Android users can now also use the "Unsubscribe" feature. They can be found on the scoll-down menu that appears when you click on the downward arrow at the top right of the message.
By using "Block" on an email, Gmail adds the sender to a blacklist, and automatically sends any future mails to your spam box. This list can be edited at a future time. "Unsubscribe", which already existed on the web, can now be used on Android phones.
The new features are already available on the web, but will be rolled out over the course of a week for the Android app.
