New Delhi: After announcing it at its WWDC meet in June, Apple has started to roll out its latest iPhone and iPad software to consumers.
iOS 9 boasts of some brand new features, including a more proactive virtual assistant Siri and battery improvements.
Contrary to earlier updates, the iOS 9 would require users to have lesser free space to make the switch.
Some users have complained about difficulties while upgrading to the newer software. It is not confirmed if it is affecting a small number of users or a widespread issue.
Apple was expected to launch the new software for its Apple Watch on Wednesday alongside the iOS 9. However, owing to a bug in the software, Apple has held back the release till the issue is patched.
How to upgrade
To have the upgrade, you need to have an iPhone or an iPad released in 2011 or later, or an iPod Touch since 2012. Also, not every feature will work with older models while the new devices will ship with the updates already installed.
Once you back your device, all you need to do is go to ‘General’ in the Settings menu and then ‘Software Update’ in the sub menu. You will require at least 1.3 GB of free space to get the update.
(In sync with the iOS 9 roll-out IBNLive for iPhone app has also been updated bring to you the best of the new operating system. New features in the IBNLive for iPhone include Notification Hub, Spotlight Search and a design refresh for the Home Screen.)
