Actor, director and writer Sajid Yahiya is all set to release his Malayalam film Qalb. It is touted to be a romantic film, and has been produced on a grand budget. The movie stars many debutants as actors. Debutants Ranjith Sajeev and Neha Nazneen will play the lead. Veteran actors Siddique and Lena have also acted in Qalb. Sajid has penned the script of this film and directed it as well. Vijay Babu has produced this film under the banner Friday Films in association with Fragrant Nature Films. The shooting of this film has been wrapped up and will hit the big screens on January 12. Friday Film House unveiled the trailer of this film on January 3. The trailer is an intriguing one with captivating visuals of a village, beach, and many other locations. The on-screen chemistry between Ranjith Sajeev and Neha Naznee looks quite endearing. The dialogues like, “When a man falls in love the entire world will turn against him" also resonate with the theme of the film it seems.

Qalb is set in the backdrop of Alappuzha beach. The shoot for this film lasted for 80 days. Qalb is expected to be an intriguing watch with songs, action sequences, heartwarming moments, and humour as well. Twenty-five debutants have played important parts in this film. Renowned actors like Jaffer Idukki, Abu Salim, Chali Pala, Sarasa Balussery, and Manohari Joy have also played key roles. Sreedhanya and Kaarthik Shankar have also acted in Qalb. The technical crew includes cinematographer Sharon Sreenivas, editor Amal Manoj, and costume designer Sameera Saneesh.Composers Prakash Alex, Vimal Nazar, and Nihal Sadiq are in charge of the music.
Sajid had originally announced Qalb with actor Shane Nigam in the lead. This project, however, couldn’t materialise and was put on hold. The reasons for the postponement of Qalb have not been disclosed in the public domain.
