36. Tuichawng is a state Assembly/Vidhan Sabha constituency in the state of Mizoram and is part of Mizoram Lok Sabha/Parliamentary constituency. Tuichawng falls in Lawngtlai district and South region of Mizoram. It is categorised as a rural seat.
There are a total of 30,584 voters in the seat, which includes 15,497 male voters, and 15,087 female voters. In the 2018 Mizoram elections, Tuichawng recorded a voter turnout of 83.74%. In 2013 the turnout was 80.17%, and in 2008 it was 83.5%.
In 2013, Buddha Dhan Chakma of INC won the seat by a margin of 8,726 votes (41.42%). Buddha Dhan Chakma secured 69.43% of the total votes polled.
INC won this seat in the 2008 Assembly elections with a margin of 3,112 votes (16.86%), registering 56.44% of the total votes polled.
In the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, INC led in the Tuichawng Assembly segment of the Mizoram Parliamentary/Lok Sabha constituency.
