Sushma Swaraj's Daughter Bansuri Fielded From New Delhi As BJP Announces Candidates For 5 LS Seats in Capital
The saffron party on Saturday announced its first list of 195 candidates for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections

Bansuri Swaraj, the daughter of former External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj, is set to make her poll debut in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. Announcing its first list of 195 candidates, the Bharatiya Janata Party said Bansuri will contest from New Delhi Lok Sabha seat.

In addition to Bansuri’s name, the party announced the candidature of Manoj Tiwari from North East Delhi, Ramvir Singh Bidhuri from South Delhi, Kamaljeet Sehrawat from West Delhi and Praveen Khandelwal from Chandni Chowk.

Bansuri Swaraj to Contest From New Delhi

Bansuri Swaraj, who has about 15 years of experience in the legal profession, entered politics when she was appointment as the co-convenor of the Delhi BJP’s legal department in March 2023.

Interestingly, Bansuri enrolled with the Bar Council of Delhi in 2007 an has been in the legal profession since then. She has also worked as the additional advocate general for the state of Haryana.

BJP’s First List For LS Polls Out

The Bharatiya Janata Party on Saturday released its first list of 195 candidates for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, announcing that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will contest from Uttar Pradesh’s Varanasi for a third time. With this, Union Home Minister Amit Shah will be fielded from Gujarat’s Gandhinagar once again and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh will fight from Lucknow in the coming polls.

Women and Child Development Minister Smriti Irani will again contest from Amethi, an erstwhile Congress stronghold. Former Assam Chief Minsiter Sarbananda Sonowal will fight from Assam’s Dibrugarh, while former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chaouhan will fight the coming Lok Sabha polls from Vidisha.

Bansuri Swaraj Reacts to Being Fielded From New Delhi

Former External Affairs Minister late Sushma Swaraj’s daughter, Bansuri Swaraj expressed her gratitude on being fielded by the saffron party from New Delhi seat.

While talking to the media she said, “I feel grateful. I express gratitude towards PM Modi, HM Amit Shah ji, JP Nadda ji and every BJP worker for giving me this opportunity. With the resolution of ‘ab ki baar 400 paar’, every BJP worker will work to make Narendra Modi the ‘PradhanSewak’ for the third time.”
