Bengaluru: Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah seems to have taken a leaf out of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi style of functioning. Siddaramaiah held a radio programme over the weekend to give a message to farmers in the state who have been facing a pricing crisis over the last two months.

He drove to All India Radio on Raj Bhawan road to do a live speech on radio. The programme, that lasted 20 minutes, was in a way a consolation to farming families that have seen suicides. He also persuaded other farmers to reach out to revenue and agriculture department help lines and officials on advice on what to cultivate, instead of taking extreme measures.

The programme also aimed to reassure farmers that dues to them that have been pending over two years will be paid up by the end of July. He held a radio programme to popularise his 'Anna Bhagya' PDS scheme a few months back as well. The programme was a one-off broadcast and has so far not become a regular monthly or bi-monthly feature. However, the CM secretariat claims that he could take to the radio when the occasion demands it.
