Voter turnout for Pune Municipal Corporation (BMC) was 54%.

Elections to 10 municipal corporations across Maharashtra were held on Tuesday and witnessed a turnout of 56%. Voter turnout for Pune Municipal Corporation (BMC) was 54%. The stakes are high for Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Shiv Sena president Uddhav Thackeray, who led their respective parties from the front and were involved in a no-holds-barred campaign. The two parties, which are in alliance at the state-level, parted ways for the civic polls. Other players vying for a share in the local polls are the Congress, NCP, MNS and the AIMIM.

Apart from Pune, the municipal corporations which went to the polls were Mumbai, Thane, Ulhasnagar, Nashik, Pimpri-Chinchwad, Solapur, Akola, Amravati and Nagpur.

Counting starts at 10 am.
