New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi's bandgala monogrammed pinstripe suit will be auctioned in Surat on Wednesday. Auction will go on for three days and proceeds will go to the Namami Gange trust also known as the Clean Ganga Fund.

An expensive suit embroidered with his name all over it, the Prime Minister wore it during the US President Barack Obama's visits in January. As Chief Minister of Gujarat Anandiben Patel, the Prime Minister had held similar charity auctions of gifts.

The entire suit and pant had Narendra Damodardas Modi repeatedly embroidered into the fabric. As soon as the fact came to notice Modi was attacked by his rivals as being megalomaniac and narcissist.

Modi's suit which reportedly cost about Rs 10 lakh also became an issue during the recent Delhi Assembly elections and is possibly one of the reasons behind Bharatiya Janata Party's humiliating rout at the hands of Arvind Kejriwal's Aam Aadmi Party.
