40. Palak is a state Assembly/Vidhan Sabha constituency in the state of Mizoram and is part of Mizoram Lok Sabha/Parliamentary constituency. Palak falls in Saiha district and South region of Mizoram. It is categorised as a rural seat.
There are a total of 17,962 voters in the seat, which includes 8,916 male voters, and 9,046 female voters. In the 2018 Mizoram elections, Palak recorded a voter turnout of 80.35%. In 2013 the turnout was 82.5%, and in 2008 it was 82.5%.
In 2013, Hiphei of INC won the seat by a margin of 1,823 votes (14.29%). Hiphei secured 56.86% of the total votes polled.
MDF won this seat in the 2008 Assembly elections with a margin of 84 votes (0.67%), registering 33.37% of the total votes polled.
In the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, INC led in the Palak Assembly segment of the Mizoram Parliamentary/Lok Sabha constituency.
