Just days after India and Pakistan issued a joint statement following a meeting between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his counterpart Nawaz Sharif in Ufa, the neighbouring country on Monday did yet another u-turn.
Addressing a press conference, Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s advisor Sartaj Aziz said that the country needed more evidence against 2008 Mumbai attacks mastermind Zakiur Rehman Lakhvi for the ongoing 26/11 trial.
Reacting to the latest stand from Pakistan, former Union Home Secretary RK Singh rubbished the claim, saying India had already given “enough proof” against the perpetrators of 26/11 attack.
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader said that the latest statement from Sartaj Aziz came because of the “domestic compulsion” in Pakistan.
“We have given them enough proof. The entire 26/11 was planned is Pakistan,” said Singh, alleging that the Pakistan government is controlled by the ISI. He further said that India will follow the joint statement made by PM Narendra Modi and Nawaz Sharif.
