Modi slams Centre for being soft on Pakistan
Attacking Congress over corruption, he said there is not a single day when scams or corrupt practices of the Central government are not exposed.

Navsari (Guj): Alleging that the Central government was being soft on Pakistan, Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday said every Indian "should feel ashamed" over the beheading of two Indian soldiers by that country's troops.

"Every proud Indian should feel ashamed when heads of two of our soldiers are axed at the border. This is shameful. India is being mocked at," Modi said while addressing 'Vivekananda Youth Sammelan' on the occasion of Gujarat's 53rd Foundation Day programme.

The state of Gujarat was created on May 1, 1960, after it was bifurcated from the erstwhile state of Bombay, as it was known.

"The then Congress government did not want to create Gujarat. For eight years, the youth had to fight for the creation of the state. The present government began felicitating those who sacrificed their lives for the creation of the state," Modi said.

Attacking Congress over corruption, he said there is not a single day when scams or corrupt practices of the Central government are not exposed. "Every single day, some or the other scam of the central government is exposed," Modi said.
