The government suspended operation of UPA's game-changer' scheme to pay LPG subsidy in cash to consumers directly.
Bangalore: BJP on Thursday said the Centre's decision to raise the quota of subsidised cooking gas from 9 to 12 cylinders per household in a year was out "fear" of its prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi.
"I would like to ask Congress whether the decision to cap subsidised LPG cylinder at six was decided by Sonia Gandhi and then increased to 12 by Rahul Gandhi.
"The credit should go to Narendra Bhai Modi because they did this out of Modi's fear," BJP leader M Venkaiah Naidu told reporters in Bangalore.
The government announced the rise in LPG cap as demanded by Rahul Gandhi even as it suspended operation of UPA's game-changer' scheme to pay LPG subsidy in cash to consumers directly.
