Kumar Vishwas should apologise for comments on Kerala nurses: NCW
Kerala Chief Minister Oomen Chandy has also demanded that Vishwas apologise for his derogatory remarks against nurses from the state.

New Delhi: National Commission for Women chief Mamta Sharma on Wednesday said that Aam Aadmi Party leader Kumar Vishwas should apologise on his comments on Kerala nurses.

Kerala Chief Minister Oomen Chandy has also demanded that Vishwas apologise for his derogatory remarks against nurses from the state.

A 2008 video of Vishwas calling Kerala nurses dark-skinned and ugly went viral on social media recently. The controversy has led to strong protests in the state. Recently, the party office in Kochi was vandalised allegedly by youth Congress workers to protest the incident. attacked and nurses protested in Delhi.

Eminent Malayali writer Sara Joseph, who joined AAP last week, said, "Remarks of Vishwas are totally deplorable. I strongly protest it. I expect that the AAP leadership will come out with a clarification on the issue."

The united nurses association has issued a legal notice to the AAP leader demanding that he take back his statement and apologise to the entire nurse community.

AAP's Kerala unit has apologised on behalf of Vishwa but Vishwas himself is yet to speak out.
