After targeting politicians, corporate leaders and the activists, Kejriwal is now attacking the media owners and journalists.

New Delhi: As someone said 'one controversy a day keeps the AAP alive'. The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief Arvind Kejriwal and his party leaders are good at making most audacious statements against the people whom they think are against their ideology and their party. They launch tirade against their targets. After targeting politicians, corporate leaders and the activists, Kejriwal is now attacking the media owners and journalists. It seems his honeymoon with the media is over. Earlier the media was accused of giving AAP blanket coverage disproportionate to its real strength and reach.

Now the same media is at the receiving end of the AAP.

Most believe that the AAP and Kejriwal are the creation of the media and without them he would not have existed today. But, Kejriwal denies it. In an interview he said, "we are here today, not because of the media. We are here today despite the media."

Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah tweeted on the ongoing controversy. In his tweet he said, "I really don't get AAP & Arvind Kejriwal's criticism of the media. But for the blanket coverage he has received AAP wouldn't exist today."

Some top media personalities are also demanding that Kejriwal must name the media organizations and journalists whom he considers 'paid', instead of making statements against all media personalities without proof or substance.

His comments on the media and threat to send some journalists to jail when in power have led to widespread condemnation. Here is a list of some of his 'Hit and Run' statements in the recent past.

March 9, 2014: 'Modi snatched land from farmers and gave to Adani, the media never told you. That Kejriwal has taken a house with three rooms they will run the entire day'

March 2, 2014: 'Modi wave is a creation of the media; it's a wave on television'

'Paid opinion polls are projecting a win for Narendra Modi'

Jan 25, 2014: 'I don't know why media houses want people to speak against me. They are associated either with one party or another"

Nov 24, 2013: 'I am told Rs 1400 crore has been distributed to a few media houses. Who are these media houses?'

What's your reaction?
