113. Katangi is a state Assembly/Vidhan Sabha constituency in the state of Madhya Pradesh and is part of Balaghat Lok Sabha/Parliamentary constituency. Katangi falls in Balaghat district and Mahakoshal region of Madhya Pradesh. It is categorised as a rural seat.
There are a total of 1,89,048 voters in the seat, which includes 95,114 male voters, and 93,934 female voters. In the 2018 Madhya Pradesh elections, Katangi recorded a voter turnout of 80.4%. In 2013 the turnout was 81.09%, and in 2008 it was 82.22%.
In 2013, K D Deshmukh of BJP won the seat by a margin of 19,950 votes (14.18%). K D Deshmukh secured 40.69% of the total votes polled.
INC won this seat in the 2008 Assembly elections with a margin of 2,411 votes (1.98%), registering 32.54% of the total votes polled.
In the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, BJP led in the Katangi Assembly segment of the Balaghat Parliamentary/Lok Sabha constituency.
